Anne Guest Posts at JonathanFields.com

Jonathan Fields is one of my favorite bloggers. He’s all about joy, having fun, successful entrepreneurship and creating mutually supportive tribes.

It’s hard to say exactly why, but often his posts resonate with my own life view and when they don’t, they pose a challenge worthy of consideration.

For example, What Competition? can be taken to heart by any writer. If Buddha was CEO just makes my heart sing.

He’s also writes book, including The Truth About Book Marketing which is both FREE and true, and, obviously, his blog. He’s also the one who suggested asking Who Can I Help Today, which I’ve actually done most mornings on Twitter. Try it.

Not too long ago something triggered in my mind and I wrote a piece called Forget Your Elevator Speech and Say Hello, and fired it off in an email to Jonathan asking if he’d like to use it as a guest post.

He said yes, and there it is.

Why am I telling you this?

First of all I’m bragging. I’m tickled pink to be there and telling you so. (Yes, promoting yourself is something all successful writers and blogger learn to do – and it is a learnable skill.)

There is, however, also another lesson here for freelance writers, and it is something along the lines of trust your gut and go for the gold. (Geeze, there are those darn clichés again… how about: follow your intuition and dare to aim high? Sigh.)

You get the idea:

  • If you don’t write, nothing gets written
  • If you don’t submit there’s no chance you’ll be published.

So, now it’s up to you! Who else?

What will you dare in your writing this week?
