And The Winner Is…

I found a way to pick a winner. Seriously, it’s not easy when the comments, questions and concerns are as interesting as these are. Here’s how I did it.

My ‘net buddy, Gary Jones, who handles wordpress and Thesis tech stuff from me from his home office in Basingstoke, England (http://garyjones.co.uk/) and general nice guy popped on line just as I was wondering how to choose. So I asked him to pick a number without telling him why and he did. Number 5.

Which means the winner is:

Honestly, I could blame not breaking into freelance writing on my full-time job or not enough hours in the day. But ultimately what you give time to is what your life becomes. For me it is a combination of fear of failure mixed with not knowing where to start. I have clips under my belt, but I’m stuck at what to do next.

Congratulations! And thanks for all who participated. I”m going to do some answering now – over the next few days.

Meanwhile, you have until midnight tonight (Friday, January 7, 2011) to sign up for the Breaking In & Earning Big in Freelance Writing Webinar at the sale price of only $27.00 – after that it goes to $36

  • Hello ladies!

For me, succeeding at freelancing is not about fear (nothing really to lose, but everything to build and gain), it’s just a matter of networking and knowing what to do next. Letting go of fear happens when you become empowered, I hope that I’ll learn a number of great techniques from the webinar.

Also, thanks to the both of you for your daily doses of inspiration and help!

  • Hi Anne — Well, I like your solution. I too found it very hard to pick a winner. So many interesting comments! But ultimately, I also picked one that spoke to the fears so many readers wrote in about — fear of looking dumb, fear of failing, fear of succeeding.

We’re going to be teaching some very concrete exercises for getting beyond these fears in the Webinar for sure!

    • lol, it was serendipitous for sure… I was staring at the comments wondering how to sort it out when Gary logged on.
