Here are 33 ways a writer can generate ideas. These aren’t the only ways of course, but may spark a new notion for you.

  1. Look out your window – what do you see?

  3. Read posts from a year ago and rewrite.
  4. Re-purpose blogs you’ve already written.
  5. Google for blogs in your topic and see what ideas you get.
  6. Try the same search in Bing.
  7. Technorati is a blog directory that can be useful when generating ideas.

  9. Ask yourself what your readers need to know that you learned early in your career.
  10. What question would you most like answered? Find out and blog about it.

  • You could even join some forums in your niche and see what the current trends or problems are. Then you’d produce content at its peak instead of when it’s dead in the water.
