I signed up to drive Nissan’s new, all-electric car, the Leaf. Why leaf? No clue – leaf springs? Save leaves instead of trees? Your guess is as good as mine.
I headed on down to Liberty Station in San Diego. There, with several hundred other folks I got introduced to the car. They did a great job explaining the batteries (mostly recyclable), the optional solar panel and the roughly 100 mile range. Then we got to drive the car.
It’s so quiet. I’ve been driving since I was 14 – and the silence is amazing, a bit scary to tell the truth.
Then they shot a video of me and my boogie board. Actually, we did this twice and like most of my videos it’s not great, but it’s there. You can view it and vote for me at: https://www.drivenissanleaf.com/Win/Vote.aspx?b=w6k7xq7vzv4f
Automatic sound warning! Sorry, I don’t have control over this one. You’ll also have to confirm your vote for it to count. (Hoops… let’s all jump through hoops!)
If I get more votes than anyone in the next 29 days I’ll win – so vote early and spread the word. And if you want to test drive a leaf there may be an event near you. Take a look at: https://drivenissanleaf.com/Event/
And thanks for your vote!
