International Freelance Day(s) – Free Event

International Freelancers DayIf you freelance or want to, and since you’re here I assume you do, you’ll want to take advantage of the first International Freelance Day(s).

To tell you the truth, I’m not sure why they’re doing it, but there’s a stellar list of presenters, some I know and love like Jonathan Fields, Peter Bowerman, Liz Strauss, Michael Stelzner, Brian Clark and Dan Poynter.

Then there are some I know off, like Bob Bly, and a whole slew of folks I probably should know of and don’t, yet.

Yes, the event is free. Yes it’s online which means you can watch it in your pjs or maybe even from your office if you have a j-0-b.

Since, like me, you probably won’t be able to sit at the computer participating through all the sessions on both Friday and Saturday, I suggest you take a look at the Session Schedule and pick and choose.

As soon as you register, and there is some limit so don’t procrastinate but do it now, you’ll get access to all 24 sessions plus 6 pre-event business building tutorials you can use right away. I also suspect that while the promised bragging rights will be small, the benefits from even one session will be worth your time. Really.

It might even make sense to skip some of the writers and concentrate on the marketers. These are some of the best in the business and it’s my hunch that ever one of them will share something that any freelance writer or editor or translator can use.

And here, because I can, is a video you can watch about the event:

What sessions are you planning on attending? Let us know, and ‘see’ you there.

  • I’ve been in and out on it all day and while most of it is not new to me I have picked up some good ideas. Hey it’s free so why not see what they have to offer?

    • I’m wondering if it’s working for the presenters… I couldn’t even find out what the Wealthy Freelancer book cost… kept getting a 404 error. I think I’d prefer having the videos available for say a week and we could go watch what we want when.

      • They have been having all kinds of technical problems. I tried a link to Copyblogger for free report-one worked-the other just linked to a post. I’m probably going to do the same and wait for the videos.

        • On the other hand, it was a massive effort and woth it for them I think… we’ll hear more I’m sure.

  • Wow this looks really interesting. Thanks so much for sharing! I plan on attending several of the sessions to help me build my freelance career.

    • well, got to one event… not impressed so far… want to try another.

      • I’m not going to be able to get there today-too much work. I’m not sure after reviewing things if I’ll go to the Saturday sessions. Let us know about the next one you attend. Thanks, Anne.

  • Hi Anne:
I signed up, but am not sure which I’ll attend-probably some of the marketing. I have been so crazy busy I haven’t been paying a whole lot of attention to the pre-event stuff. Thanks for the link to the schedule. I probably was given it, but I have not looked at it.

Poster child for procrastination? Maybe I better make sure I attend. 🙂

    • I’d like to get to something… but I’m not sure what or when. I know the feeling.
