About Freelance Writing Expanding

Helen Chang Freelance Writer

Helen Chang, Freelance Writer

I’m delighted to tell each and every one of you that About Freelance Writer is expanding.

The first step in that expansion comes in the form of two wonderful writers, Helen Chang and Lori Widmer.

Helen Chang

Helen lives and works in San Diego, my own home town. I don’t remember when we first met but she’s a jewel. She’s a journalist, a ghostwriter and is often found teaching writing classes around town.

Her credits include articles in:

  • MSNBC.com
  • Time
  • BusinessWeek
  • The San Francisco Chronicle
  • San Diego Business Journal
  • Wired Online
  • Elle
  • Fodors.com

She’s also part of my Mastermind Group – or I’m part of hers. You can read more about her at her business website, Ocean Cloud Media.

Lori is proof you can make good and true friends online. We’ve never met face-to-face although we’ve come close.

Again, I’m not at all clear how we first connected but we’ve held each other’s back, muttered, celebrated and consulted with each other for years.

She lives and works in the Philadelphia-area freelance writer and editor with over 15 years of experience. As she says, “… specializes in insurance and business topics, but can pretty much rock any project effectively.”

Many of you will recognize her from her blog, Words on the Page.

Lori also has an impressive list of credits, Her corporate clients include:

  • Ernst Young Consulting
  • Pinkerton Consulting Investigations
  • FM Global Insurance Corporation
  • Benefit Consultants Group
  • World Wide Specialty Programs

That’s not all she’s done or does – – just take a look at her business site.

Please join me in welcoming each of these smart, classy, wonderful gals.

  • Anne, I’d follow you through fire….

I can clear up the mystery. We first met when you started at About.com. From there, I followed you to this site. Now into new ventures.

I’m tickled speechless (for me, anyway) to be part of this with such great ladies. Helen’s a charmer and I can’t wait to adopt her as another best chum.

Jenn, you and I are going to meet up soon. I’m itching for local chums, too!

    • Anne

Thought might have been then… assume it was when I was the Guide to Freelance Writing… doubt if you found me when I was doing the San Diego site… and I’d follow you through fire too so there we have it. But you’d better not be speechless… or writeless or wordless. 😉

  • Well darn. If I knew Lori was up for being a contributing blogger, I would have tried to snag her for All Freelance Writing ages ago. And be jealous Anne… she might not be local for you, but she’s practically my neighbor. 😉 Glad to see you’ll be posting here Lori!

I’m not as familiar with Helen, but always glad to see some additional insight into freelance issues, so welcome Helen! I’ll look forward to checking out your posts. 🙂

Geeze, now I’ve got two reasons to come back east… Thanks Jenn, your support is appreciated.
