Of Blank Pages and Writing – Quotes to Inspire Writers

You can’t edit a blank page.

I did a quick search and couldn’t find out who originally said this. James Dubeau, who blogs at Tim and Jim’s Awesome Blog posted it in comments here.

Do you have a favorite quote about writing or something close? Post it in comments and I’ll probably use it.

  • Here’s another I just love. I wish I had this kind of clarity:

No pen, no ink, no table, no room, no time, no quiet, no inclination. –James Joyce
.-= Mark Keating´s last blog ..Carbon Capture Test Called a Success by We Energies =-.

  • Anne:

Found on Bob Bly’s excellent copywriting site:
“It is not enough to write so that you can be understood; you must write so clearly that you cannot be misunderstood.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

.-= Mark Keating´s last blog ..Where The Green Jobs Are – How to Find Them, How to Get Them =-.

    Brick, thanks so very much…

Chris… the first, well, no… or not alone anyway, the second you bet!

  • This may be a bit silly, but this quote is the first one that popped in my head.

“Write drunk, edit sober” Ernest Hemingway

Here ‘s another one I like:

“Do not the most moving moments of our lives find us all without words?”
    Marcell Marceau

I found a site some time ago with tons of quotes, but I can’t find it. Maybe if it shows up I’ll come back. Cool post though.
    .-= Chris Anderson´s last blog ..Friendly Competition, It’s a Powerful Motivator =-.

  • Just popping in to say that I’ve selected your blog as one of a group I’ve recently discovered, which deserve special mention
