Words As Art

Last year Liz Strauss over at Successful Blog pointed to a wonderful graphic tool called Wordle.

That’s how I generated the  graphic you see here. I entered the web address (www.aboutfreelancewriting.com) for this site and Wordle built a word cloud from the RSS feed

I then took a screen shot, pasted that into my image editor, cropped it, saved it as a .gif and here we are. Easy really.

You can fiddle with the layout and the colors and you can enter a group of words as well as a website address. It’s great fun.

BTW, if you click on the image you can see it full size.

Liz points out that these word clouds can also be used as tools and lists ways to use them in things like greeting cards, as presentation slides, etc.

Give it a try – it’s dirt simple, subtle and lots of variations are possible. Then point us at your creation.
