The world indeed seems smaller. Darren Rowse of ProBlogger fame tweeted telling us we could donate to the victims of the horrendous fires in Australia through the Australian Red Cross. It was October of 2007 that much of the area around my home town of San Diego burned in similar fires, so I’ve got some sympathy built in.
It seems like Australia, known by many as Oz, has been winding in and out of my life for over a decade now. I ended up in Brisbane for 10 days back in 1989 at the end of a 5-month adventure sailing in the South Pacific.
Several years later, a bloke from Sydney named Pip Wilson, whom I have yet to meet face-to-face, created some wonderful cartoons for a book of mine.
Lots of folks from b5media, where I got most of my blogging experience are from Oz.
And I’ve been taking Become A Blogger by Yaro Starak and Gideon Shalwick, both from down under.
All of it adds up to a desire to do something to help. Maybe you’ll be moved to do the same thing.
