Over time, your inbox gets every more full. And as it fills the guilt builds. Oh, this isn’t major guilt, but a minor niggle. The trouble with minor niggles is, as they collect, sap energy and creativity.
At least a couple of times a year, maybe even quarterly, go through your email and unsubscribe to those ezines and notices you don’t read, even if you’d really like to read them someday.
As a newsletter writer I don’t worry when someone unsubscribes. The truth is, my list is now big enough so I don’t notice. I know people change directions and interests, just like I do. If it’s okay for me to unsubscribe from newsletters, it’s got to be okay for you to do the same.
Take a few minutes, maybe even right now, and unsubscribe like mad. You can always re-subscribe later if you get more time. Delete the unread copies. Reclaim your inbox. I suspect you’ll be delighted.
