There is, not surprisingly, something else you need to do after you get a rejection slip or email. And that’s keep writing, and submitting.
It’s persistence that moves you toward success, and keeps you successful once you’ve gotten there.
To use a cliché 
, lick your wounds (now there’s an ugly image), celebrate, but briefly. Then go right back to writing. You’ll be glad you did.
