It’s absolutley amazing how many winter celebrations there are. WikiPedia lists many, but there are even more.
As near as I can tell they are all based on light, and probably the turning of the year, a welcoming of the sun and longer days after a dark season of shorter days. Of course most of them also have deep spiritual meanings. But I wanted to look at what we have in common, at what joins us.
