Rice Terrace

Rice Terrace in China

I know I’ve talked about Free Rice, but I’d forgotten about it.

Just in case you have too, it’s a word game that also helps feed people. Run by United Nations World Food Program, every time you get the right definition for a presented word 10 grains of rice are donated to feed the hungry.

It turns out there are more games there – click on subjects and you’ll find you can also name the artist, test your geography, your math and even some chemistry. There are also some languages you can play with.

I love it when I can do good by playing!

Our buddies over at Creative Copy Challenge are up to Challenge #50, a worthy milestone I think. They’ve now added some random posts – this one, for example, on how words really can move people, which of course, as writers we already know. But it’s good to be reminded.

Do you have a game you’d like to see here? Add it to comments.

Write well and often,

Anne
