I’d love to see such a thorough daily compilation of freelance book design and production work opportunities.

Stephen any clue how I’d compile such a list? I’ll do some searching, but if you’ve got some pointers I’d love it.

Well, I often cull thru Bookbuilders West, Bookbuilders of Boston, Craigslist … But if I were really going to pursue such a site, I might talk to some who does HTML coding about coming up with an algorithm that crawls the Internet looking for such freelance job postings. I’m just not a programmer/coder and I’m occuied working and looking for such work.

I did a couple of searches yesterday… and all three of those are on my list… well the bookbuilders of boston is… will check out west and see if they are… I don’t code either… anyone here that does? I’d be delighted…

Dear Anne,

I replied to one of the gigs listed both on Monday and today (#13 Content writers needed training and hiring). I got an email from: terryhendrix@freelancewritersplacement.com with a link to the site. It charges for a writer to write. When I emailed this terryhendrix back, AOL returned it, stating no such person. When I went back to the website it wouldn’t let me in and the original email seems to have disappeared. I’m wondering, besides the point of writers paying to write, if this is a scam. Or…am I becoming webscamparanonoidic? lol.

Thanks,
Patty

Sorry about that… in theory I don’t post jobs that lead to a website that asks for pay… in practice they do slip through… obviously a scam of some sort. Next time you get an email like that back ignore it… just post here… you don’t need to pay anyone to get work.
