I’m told that this watching we do through the filter of writing makes some nervous when they figure out what we do… suspect they are afraid we won’t write well of them when the truth is we won’t (probably) write of them at all.

This quote is so true. I've had jobs and other professions but writing has always been there. It colors the way I look at the world and think. I'll find myself reading or watching a movie and thinking of other ways that the story could be written. While watching The Wizard of Oz last night I got to thinking about the red brick road that runs right next to the yellow brick road for a while and then takes off in the opposite direction.
