Florante, I had real trouble with this too. The first time I tried I had way too many categories I had way too many. I also update every morning except Saturday and balance my checkbook once a week. It’s so much simpler when I just have to add a few transactions and reconciling is almost a cinch when it’s only a week’s worth of numbers… entering numbers probably takes 5 minutes and reconciliation of two checkbooks 15; when I leave either process for longer than a day or two it gets to feeling impossible. Also I’ve never been able to find an error when I’m looking at a month’s worth of numbers… can usually see it in a week’s worth.

Thanks for this great insights and reminders, Anne. I honestly have not been able to really get my hands on my budgeting and categorizing them. I have used Quicken in the past but i couldn't get pass using it more than 2months without forgetting to update what i've set up.
