NaNoMo Is Almost Upon Us

in Way Off The Subject, Or Not

nonomo09November is National Novel Writing Month – the idea is to write a novel in 30 days, starting on the first of November and ending on November 30th.

The website will give you a way to report your progress and join others in this mad venture.

We’d love to hear about it here too.

Are you NoNoMoing this year?

Write well and often,

Anne

I’ll probably do it next year. I’m finishing the edit of my novel and trying to write synopses (aauuggh!). I just don’t have time right now. I’d love to try it, though. Deadlines inspire me!

I’d be much better off finishing something I’ve already started. I probably have a dozen novels in progress. Two of them are in “final-ha-ha” draft. It’s so much easier to start another first chapter than wrestle with the out-of-control intricacies of a novel gone awry. I pull out my goose plume pen and write:

“Robbie Martins wrapped his tear-stained note around the brick and hurled it high above the orphanage wall…”

Or maybe I’ll just come here and post something.

I have to pass this year — too many deadlines and too much travelling. I’ve done it and passed the 50K mark for the past four years — I think it’s a great way to get your creativity going. Congrats and best wishes to all who are participating!
