I’d like to warn everyone that the first listed job here, blogging at Employed-Online.com, is for a company with dubious morals. They appear to have plagiarized an article I wrote for AOL’s Careers site:

Here’s my original story on AOL Careers:
http://jobs.aol.com/articles/2009/09/11/7-unusual-work-from-home-jobs/

Here’s their story (note that they even kept most of my sources! And much of my writing survives intact):
http://www.employed-online.com/blog/previousposts.php?d=55

I am trying to reach them now for an explanation, removal and/or payment. But their site has only a fill-in email form for contact, and it doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve reached out on Twitter and other social media to see if I can flush these folks out…but I’d beware.

Also not sure the job really exists as the link they provide just goes to their home page and I don’t see the job listed.

Thanks Carol… ugh, hate this when it happens and have no idea how to avoid some of these folks because they way the post hides them unless we spend way more time than we can afford to.

You know, it probably ought to be some sort of personal rule to never write for anyone who does’t have their real email address posted… and maybe a phone number… those forms are great when they work, but they leave you stuck so often

In a weird way I’m glad they advertised, as it brought this to my attention when I might not have discovered it otherwise!

Hey, whatever works!

How odd that they changed some wording but not the majority. Why even bother changing some if they just copied and pasted the rest, not even changing the order of the jobs? lol, just weird. Thanks for the leads as usual, Anne.

Wanted to report back that after some pressure from me and my contractor for the AOL piece, PayScale, Employed-Online.com HAS removed the article of mine that they plagiarized from AOL’s Careers site.

Justice!
