Lori - if you think about it, you are bidding for your work every time you compete for a client against the open freelance writing market. I am very active on Elance, and I am not writing articles for $2 or $5. No, I still won’t use them. His tips are great, but they’re great for any writer, not just bidding-site users – except, of course, for those bidding-specific tips.

I don’t care to bid for my work and have to compete with people who are willing to give it away. I charge a fee. It’s what I can live with and still make money. It’s no benefit to me if someone pays $5 to get an entire website rewrite, and to me, both sides in any business arrangement have to realize some benefit in order for it to be fair.

I’m glad you posted these links, Anne. I’ll stick with traditional routes, though.
