Monty Python Talks About Writing With Partners – Videos for Writers

in Videos About Writing

Not surprisingly, this short video is a hoot.

Do you write with partners? Why?

Write well and often,

Anne

I’ve written with partners on a few projects. It pays off when each partner brings something unique to the team: special knowledge or skills or connections or facilities, or just the ability to inspire the rest of the team. I just finished redoing a script that I started in 2002. My script consultant and I went through the last draft line by line. I think the script is now twice as good as it was before. We have synergy: I’d suggest a change which would immediately inspire her to recommend a related change somewhere else. Those changes would cause another inspired moment, and so on. We’re now in the process of mounting a reading of the full script in a large auditorium in Santa Barbara. Many challenges ahead of us, but the result should be marvelous. I’m a believer in teamwork.
