For #7 – “I also work as an SEO so i know what price you deserve.”

In other words – “I expect you to work for dirt.”

Wouldn’t touch that one for anything.

HPC Books (#M3) doesn’t seem to have a web presence, odd for a company that’s been doing business for 11 years.

Thanks Anne. I agree about the guy that says he knows what price you deserve. Like many, he expects us to work for little to nothing. If they think writing is so easy, why don’t they just do it themselves? That would save much wasted time and effort.

Phil and April… I had the same thought when I posted the ad. Jorge, I think their site is http://www.hpcbookspress.com/ but I’m not sure…

Divesh, keep applying… it will happen.

Yeah, I noticed HPC was in the “might be worth considering” category, rather than in the main list.
HPC stands for high-performance computing, which is what hpcbookspress is all about. The “HPC” listing above calls for “all genres,” so it’s probably not them. I guess “searching for new writers” set my BS detector off…

A milestone of a sort, this week: turned down my first gig. It turned out to be a bit different than listed, so I suggested the client find someone who specialized in that work. Nice to have a shot at it, though. Thanks, Anne.
