With a grateful nod to Jennifer Williamson of CatalystBlogger, here’s my wish list for 2008. Note, for me a wish list is not a set of goals, but may be good preparation for goal setting. Anyway, without any more nit picking, here’s at least some of what I’m wishing for next year:
- Peace – and yes, I know it begins with me and I’m gradually getting there.
- My new office working well and looking lovely.
- A better way to write contracts to smooth out my income.
- A willingness to work out three times a week.
- More residual income so I don’t have to be ghostwriting when I’m 95 years old.
- A digital video camera.
- The garage door opener installed.
- A lavender plant.
- Delightful clients who appreciate me, pay me well and keep their agreements.
- Learn how to be of even more service to my clients, my readers and the rest of the word.
Now it’s your turn – what do you wish for in 2009? Tell us about it.

Hi Anne, I think the main thing I want in 2009 is to take a giant leap forward. Not a few medium steps. Or a single, biggish step, but one giant one. I think I made some solid progress in ’08 with work and personal relationships but I feel like there’s a lot more to come. And peace would be good too. If only…
• Wish the media learns to be less negative. It tends to tear down the spirit and makes it difficult to uplifting.
• Try a new genre in writing.
• Network more frequently.
• Edit my work for typos (I am the worst typist)
• Keep pursuing my dreams because a dream becomes a reality only when you pursue it.
Iris, sounds like 2008 set you up well for a huge leap in 2009.
Veronica – nice.
I am aiming for finacial freedom. I have been thinking for a while about beginning freelance writing for extra income and just for fun. So why not begin now? This is all very new to me and have learned a great amount of information on where to go from here. I have always loved writing and do a lot of it in school, but why not try to make a living out of it as well.
Vanessa – financial freedom is a great goal… figure out what number you mean by that.
I don’t think it would be a particular number or dollar amount, but being able to pay all the bills and not have to worry about how they will get paid. 2008 was a great year for us, we moved cross country for a better life, but my job is just that a job.
Vanessa, just a job isn’t always a bad thing… can provide groceries while you’re earning your writing chops.
