in Freelance Writing Jobs

Here are 65 freelance writing, editing, blogging, translation and etc. jobs for you.

Every now and again I get a semi-irate email asking why I post low-paying writing gigs. I experimented awhile with setting a limit. As I recall, if the article writing job didn’t pay at least $10, I didn’t post it. Then I got an email from a gal who told me how much difference the $1, $2, and $3 an article made for her, actually allowing her to stay home with her kids. Needless to say I got off my high horse and stopped screening for low pay jobs – like so many things, low pay is in the eye of the beholder. Now I simply reply to the irate ones that they don’t have to apply.

I say “way to go” on the irate emailers. I have gotten a handful of low paying jobs through your list, that have turned into a handful of long term clients that now pay more for the work I do for them on the various projects they have. They also refer me to people in thier network, which has lead to many jobs that were no where near low paying. Most people will stick with a writer that they know will deliver quality work.

My adivce to the irate people on low pay, not only do you NOT need to apply, but you also shouldn’t judge a potential bridge just because it isn’t painted as pretty as the next one.

Thanks for all the post Anne!

Hello Anne, I just wanted to say thanks for the great service you provide here and also to comment on the idiots who send you rude emails. I can’t believe the nerve of some people. Talk about ungrateful. I am greatly appreciative of the time you take to put together these leads and to have a wonderful website for us writers, how dare someone complain about the pay to you?! Tis the season to be jolly I guess. Anyway, thanks again and have a great day. ~ Heather

Thanks to each of you… and let me assure you the complaints are few and far between. Most email is like your comments… which I love!
